6. SellSwipe

sellswipe

Founded: 2015

“SellSwipe began with the idea of making local shopping easier for the consumer. In 2015, our CEO, David, was sitting at his desk in New York, searching for a place to purchase roses for a date. He looked on his phone for a flower shop near him, but couldn’t find one close enough to make it in time for his date. After leaving the office, to his surprise, he noticed a flower shop right across the street. He ended up getting the roses for free after he told the owner how they didn’t show up on his phone. As a millennial who relies on his phone for everything, the experience left him with more questions than answers.”
