AI Cameras Catch Littering Drivers
AI cameras are being set up on some UK highways to catch drivers who throw trash out of their car windows. The cameras will be able to automatically send the images to enforcers, and offenders could be fined up to £100. The initiative is being run by National Highways in collaboration with a subsidiary of East Hampshire county council. The cameras will initially be rolled out in the South East of England. There has been increasing concern over littering on the country’s highways, and some critics have said that the latest approach is another “meaningless partnership” that will not deliver results.
