Eran Orr of XRHealth

An exclusive Tech Tribune Q&A with Eran Orr, the founder and CEO of XRHealth, which was honored in our:
Tell us the origin story of XRHealth – what problem were you trying to solve and why?

I was a pilot in the Air Force and during that time, I sustained an injury that required physical therapy. I realized that physical therapy, rehabilitation, as well as a myriad of other conditions can all be treated utilizing virtual reality and augmented reality. We developed XRHealth to leverage technology to treat patients more effectively and from the comfort of their homes.

What was the biggest hurdle you encountered in your journey?

Convincing the medical industry that virtual reality is not just about gaming and has tremendous potential to treat patients and act as a medical device. With COVID-19 as a huge medical concern, telehealth adoption has been on the rise, sparking the need for more telehealth services like XRHealth – technology that can help clinicians treat patients remotely, keeping the patient and the doctor safe.

What does the future hold for XRHealth?

XRHealth has just opened up virtual clinics for patients as well as support groups. We plan to continue to create virtual services for patients that were traditionally only done in the doctor’s office. Patients should expect to see more virtual services that will help treat them remotely.

What are your thoughts on the local tech startup scene in Brookline?

The tech scene in the Boston area, including Brookline, has grown tremendously over the years and a network has been created to help startups achieve success – companies are working together to help each other reach their full potential.

What’s your best advice for aspiring entrepreneurs?

Fail a lot, fail often, fail fast.
