Nvidia and Hippocratic AI have collaborated to develop generative AI “agents” for healthcare, capable of outperforming human nurses on video calls at a lower cost. These “empathetic healthcare agents” are powered by Nvidia and trained on Hippocratic’s large language model, enabling them to form human connections with patients through quick conversational reactions.
Tested extensively, Hippocratic’s agents have surpassed both human nurses and rival AI models in various healthcare tasks. This technology aims to alleviate healthcare worker shortages in the U.S. by providing cost-effective solutions while improving patient outcomes. According to Hippocratic’s website, these AI agents cost $9 per hour to operate, significantly lower than the median hourly pay for nurses.
