2025 Lucid Air EV Most Efficient Ever
Lucid has announced its 2025 model-year updates, highlighting significant improvements in range efficiency for its electric sedan. The entry-level Lucid Air Pure, starting at $69,900, now boasts a range of 420 miles on an 84 kWh battery, achieving 5 miles/kWh, making it the most efficient EV available. This efficiency increase is largely due to the standardization of a heat pump across the range.
Additionally, Lucid has enhanced the Air’s computer hardware, tripling processing power and doubling system memory for improved infotainment and making its advanced driver assistance system standard. The Air Pure’s 5 miles/kWh efficiency translates to a record 146 MPGe rating.
Other models include the $110,900 Grand Touring with a 512-mile range and the $78,900 Air Touring with a 406-mile range. Lucid’s recent price cuts have boosted sales, achieving a record Q2 with 2,394 deliveries.
While the Air Pure’s 2025 figures show improvements over the 2024 model’s 140 MPGe and 410-mile range, the discrepancy in MPGe calculations is attributed to energy losses during charging. Lucid emphasizes that driving efficiency reduces the need for larger, more expensive batteries, enhancing overall vehicle efficiency.
