iOS 18 Offers Slew of Huge Improvements
iOS 18 introduces a range of major new features and customizations for iPhone users. Key updates include advanced Home Screen personalization, allowing users to freely place icons and widgets, as well as customize their appearance with color options and a new dark mode. The Messages app sees enhanced text effects, emoji reactions, and scheduled messaging.
The Control Center is now more customizable, with third-party app controls and expanded functionality for the Lock Screen. New satellite connectivity features, improved image quality in iMessage, and RCS messaging for better communication between iPhone and Android are also included.
Other highlights include iPhone Mirroring for Mac integration, a revamped Photos app with customizable layouts, and the introduction of a dedicated Passwords app. Safari gains new browsing controls, and the Notes app offers in-line math support and collapsible sections. iOS 18 also improves gaming performance and expands Apple Wallet features, including Tap to Cash and Apple Pay on third-party browsers.
Additionally, privacy features are enhanced with Face ID/Touch ID app locks and hidden apps, alongside new Accessibility functions like Eye Tracking and Music Haptics. The Home app offers hands-free smart lock unlocking and better guest access controls.
