“As a chef, Matt Tortora loved using the best fresh, local ingredients in his dishes. However, he quickly became frustrated that there was no way to easily buy from all his favorite local vendors.

He envisioned a solution, a platform, where buyers could find local, seasonal ingredients and purchase them directly from local farmers and vendors.

So he and Will Araújo gathered a team and in 2014 launched WhatsGood, an online marketplace connecting buyers with local farmers and vendors. The platform has since evolved from the initial idea as a platform just for chefs, but the mission has stayed the same: to connect communities with the people growing their food.”
