BYD’s Seagull Electric City Car Hits 200,000 Sales Milestone in Record Time

Chinese automaker BYD has reached a significant milestone by producing 200,000 units of its compact electric city car, the BYD Seagull, just six months after its launch at the Shanghai auto show. Priced at under $17,000, the Seagull has gained popularity in China’s urban areas, with over 10,000 orders within the first 24 hours of its launch.

The model is available with two battery options, offering up to 405 km of range on the CLTC cycle. BYD’s success with the Seagull aligns with the growing demand for affordable electric city cars, attracting interest from other automakers.
