Influencer Creates AI Girlfriend Version of Herself

Caryn Marjorie, a 23-year-old influencer with over 1.8 million followers on Snapchat, has launched a chatbot, CarynAI, which acts as a virtual girlfriend. The chatbot uses the latest artificial intelligence (AI) technology to replicate Marjorie’s voice and personality, based on thousands of hours of her recordings. The bot charges $1 per minute and has already generated $71,610 in revenue from 99% male partners during its private beta testing. Though CarynAI has raised ethical concerns, with some believing that it could impact human interactions, the CEO of AI company Forever Voices, John Meyer, believes the technology could cure loneliness for young people.
