Anthony Gantt of At Ease

An exclusive Tech Tribune Q&A with Anthony Gantt (founder and CEO) of At Ease, which was honored in our:
Tell us the origin story of At Ease – what problem were you trying to solve and why?

At Ease is a short-term rental platform helping military and federal employees and their families find government-approved temporary housing with less time and frustration. I’m a 22+ year Marine, husband, and father of six who grew tired of eight different personalities living in one hotel room each time he was relocated to a new base. After four moves in four years, I started At Ease with the mission to simplify the booking and reimbursement process for PCS orders (permanent change of station). At Ease is founded and operated by active military families and veterans and is dedicated to improving the lives of our heroes and their families.

What was the biggest hurdle you encountered in your journey?

My hurdles have been staffing software engineers in a competitive landscape, brand credibility, and navigating the ever changing environment created by the pandemic.

What does the future hold for At Ease?

Our future is boundless and is embedded in our vision to simplify the moving experience for our customers, providing them unlimited selection, and convenience.

What are your thoughts on the local tech startup scene in Round Rock?

Round Rock ranks as one of the places to live year over year, so it’s no surprise that we are seeing the tech scene spread beyond Austin. It is an exciting time to live in Round Rock and I am glad to be in the middle of everything. I personally believe the tech industry in Round Rock is a result of Dell’s headquarter sitting at its entrance once you leave Austin. With Apple, Facebook, Samsung, Oracle, and Telsa within 20 minutes of Round Rock, it only makes sense to see more tech companies begin to make Round Rock their home.

What’s your best advice for aspiring entrepreneurs?

Pay attention to the opportunities that exist around you, be scrappy, and don’t let the need to raise capital prevent you from capturing every opportunity available.
