Apple Users Will Soon Be Able to Remove Objects From Pictures
Apple’s latest developer betas for iOS 18.1, iPadOS 18.1, and macOS 15.1 introduce a new AI-powered feature called “Clean Up,” which allows users to remove objects from photos easily. The feature uses smart detection to select and delete unwanted objects with a single tap or by brushing over them. It also intelligently fills in the background, accounting for shadows and reflections.
This feature is similar to Google’s “Magic Eraser” in Google Photos. Apple has been gradually introducing its AI-driven “Apple Intelligence” features, which include writing tools, natural language search in Photos, transcription for calls and recordings, and smart replies in Mail, available only to users in the U.S. with their language set to English.
