New Mystery Nintendo Device

Nintendo has submitted a mysterious new wireless device, model CLO-001, to the FCC, sparking speculation about its purpose. Unlike the upcoming Switch 2, this device is classified simply as a “wireless device” and doesn’t appear to be a game console or controller. The device features a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi radio and a 24GHz mmWave sensor, suggesting it may have radar capabilities, possibly for gesture control or proximity detection.

The device lacks 5GHz Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and a battery, requiring a USB-C connection for power. Speculation includes potential uses in gesture-based interfaces, smart home devices, augmented reality (AR), or a revival of Nintendo’s “Quality of Life” sleep-tracking initiative. However, its exact purpose remains unclear, fueling further curiosity as rumors around the Switch 2 circulate.
