Waymo’s Robotaxis Hit Milestone: 50,000 Paid Trips Weekly
Waymo’s robotaxi service is rapidly expanding, with over 50,000 paid trips per week in Phoenix, San Francisco, and Los Angeles. Operating 24/7 in parts of these cities, Waymo One has facilitated over one million rider-only trips across four cities, including Austin.
The company attributes its success to a “safe and deliberate approach” to scaling. Despite its achievements, Waymo has faced challenges, such as traffic blockages and software issues resulting in accidents. However, it remains optimistic about the future of autonomous ride-hailing.
