The Tech Tribune staff has compiled the very best tech startups in Utah. In doing our research, we considered several factors including but not limited to:

3. Brand/product traction
4. Competitive landscape

Additionally, all companies must be independent (unacquired), privately owned, at most 10 years old, and have received at least one round of funding in order to qualify.

1. Health Catalyst

Founded: 2008

3. Recursion Pharmaceuticals

Founded: 2013

“Recursion Pharmaceuticals has developed a powerful drug discovery platform involving millions of rapid, automated experiments and analysis to discover new therapeutics. Our platform has resulted in the massive parallelization of drug discovery. We have deployed this platform in pursuit of drugs for the treatment of rare genetic diseases. We partner or out-license these leads to major pharmaceutical companies early in development. Our horizontal business model focused on discovery accelerates our impact and reduces our costs by avoiding slow and costly in-house development, and allows us to spread risk across many new therapeutic opportunities.”

Founded: 2014

7. Owlet Baby Care

“Owlet Baby Care is a health technology company founded by a team of parents in 2013. The company’s flagship product is the Smart Sock Baby Monitor, which uses pulse oximetry technology to track a baby’s heart rate and oxygen levels during sleep. Owlet’s mission is to empower parents with the right information at the right time.”

8. TaskEasy, Inc.

Founded: 2011

“TaskEasy is a hyperlocal technology provider and the first company to apply automated services model nationwide with a primary focus on lawn care and yard maintenance ancillary services. The company’s mission is to make buying lawn maintenance services as easy for customers as buying products online, while helping reliable contractors generate more business. TaskEasy’s patent-pending formula establishes fair market pricing for these services in statistical metropolitan areas in all 50 U.S. states. This means customers and contractors don’t have to haggle on price and can instead focus on quality service delivery. 9. Lucid Software Inc
