The Tech Tribune staff has compiled the very best tech startups in Massachusetts. In doing our research, we considered several factors including but not limited to:

Revenue potential
Leadership team
Brand/product traction
Competitive landscape

Additionally, all companies must be independent (unacquired), privately owned, at most 10 years old, and have received at least one round of funding in order to qualify.

1. Toast

Founded: 2011

2. DraftKings

3. Seaborn Networks

Founded: 2011

4. Cambridge Mobile Telematics

Founded: 2010

Also honored in:

“Cambridge Mobile Telematics (CMT) pioneered telematics for usage-based and behavior-based programs making roads and drivers safer around the world. Founded in 2010 by two MIT professors, CMT’s accomplished team of expert scientists and experienced entrepreneurs developed DriveWell, an advanced mobile-sensing and big data platform delivering an end-to-end smartphone telematics solution. DriveWell provides valuable feedback to users, helping them to improve driving performance and become more aware of unsafe behaviors.

5. Desktop Metal

8. Altiostar Networks

Founded: 2011

“The time is now.

Mobile network operators face a transformational change in the demands of their users. Operators need to dramatically change the architecture and the way they procure and deploy their radio network. They need agility, flexibility and innovation velocity.

The architectural change they need is to adopt an open RAN model. Altiostar has been championing open RAN since 2016 and our 4G and 5G solutions provide the transformation operators require.”

9. Iora Health

Founded: 2011
