Tell us the origin story of Hyperluxe Gaming – what problem were you trying to solve and why?
Hyperluxe gaming is made up of a diverse collective of hard-working individuals that operate with one goal. With decades of e-sports, gaming experience, and a proven track record, we boast a wide variety of individual talents that we are truly blessed to have as a part of our team. Together we share the same passion, dream and entrepreneurial spirit to bring this bootstrapped startup all the way from grassroots to the spotlight and main stage of e-sports competition and entertainment. There’s not a particular problem that Hyperluxe has been trying to solve – more so filling the gap and going to market by developing the next generation of an e-sports platform. Being second or third to market and having our own in-house development team has favorably given us the ability to look at the sector, identify the market needs, and improve upon and provide the best user experience. This provides us the opportunity to look into the future design and build the SaaS technology platform functionality. Technology is evolving faster than ever and particularly so in e-sports, especially the platform functionality to support rapid expansion.
What was the biggest hurdle you encountered in your journey?
The largest hurdle that we have had to overcome was simply building out the SaaS platform to match and then surpass our competition in just under 18 months. The architecture, design, and construction of the platform is impeccable and unprecedented. With no corners cut, the main objective has been and is to deliver the best possible user experience, set the standard of what an e-sports gaming platform can be, and always work to develop not only the current technology needs of today, but also those of the future.
What does the future hold for Hyperluxe Gaming?
The future for Hyperluxe gaming has no ceiling. With multiple verticals on the SaaS platform, including turnkey tournament hosting and management, league play, title sponsorship, LAN events, an in-house live casting professional production team, fully built e-sports education curriculum, and a fully engaged hard-working team, there are no boundaries to what level of success we can achieve. What we have accomplished in under two years and with minimal funding is astounding.
What are your thoughts on the local tech startup scene in Mississippi?
The Mississippi tech start up scene is unique and advanced in its own right. This goes back to companies like Innovate MS, that do a tremendous job in bringing startups and investors together. Also, one could argue the roots of the tech space originated in Mississippi with Mr. James Barksdale, former CEO of Netscape. To be included within this group of companies is truly humbling.
What’s your best advice for aspiring entrepreneurs?
My best advice for any aspiring entrepreneur is that you have to be willing to put in the time and make the sacrifice that no one else will. Becoming an entrepreneur takes hard work, dedication, and grit. Being a team player, maintaining team balance, a very positive environment and possessing forward vision is of the utmost importance. Furthermore, having the ability to lead by example and guide your team to become their absolute best and surpass their own personal expectations is, and will be, the fundamental criteria of any entrepreneur.
